Nome, Alaska Moose Hunts

Our moose hunts are by far one of the most consistently successful hunts in all of Alaska. We use a fleet of 8-wheel Argos while we search for a legal bull moose. A legal bull moose in this area is 50” wide or at least 4 brow tines on one side. All of our Argos have enclosed cabs that help protect hunters from the rain and wind. Final stalks can range from a mile to as little as 100 yards.

H&H Alaskan Outfitters, LLC has over 13 years’ experience hunting the Seward Peninsula for Alaskan/ Yukon moose. This is one of the most unique hunting opportunities in all of North America. There are no thick forests or alder choked swamps, rather wide-open rolling tundra. This open vastness allows for glassing for miles and miles. It is not uncommon to spot one of these big antlered bull moose from over 10 miles away.

Nome, Alaska Moose Hunts

This hunt boasts an impressive harvest record! Over the last decade we have taken over 100 moose clients with a success record of 97%. Our hunts are shorter at 7 days, as it doesn’t take any longer to harvest a big mature bull. The bull moose we take are between 51”-70”, with approximately 35% being over 60”. Visit our photo album for reference. The current moose season runs September 1-14 for Non-Residents. Hunters have a 100% opportunity and will see several bulls on a 7-day hunt.

Your hunt can be customized into an Alaskan Safari, as grizzly bear, caribou, wolf, and wolverine may be added for a trophy fee. The ability to tag multiple species on this hunt is very common. You could be in search of moose one minute and the next off on a grizzly stalk. Each day is exciting as you never know what you may come across riding shotgun from an Argo ATV.

What to expect. After a 40-minute plane ride from Nome, your hunt will start at a remote base camp, located along the Continental Divide. The majority of moose hunting takes place from various spike camps throughout the Seward Peninsula. These spike camps increase the odds for success. For safety reasons, all hunts are conducted in parties of two Argos. Therefore, all hunts are 2 hunters per guide with another driver or packer in the hunting party.

The hunter is responsible for purchasing their hunting license and metal locking moose tag, as well as lodging and meals while in Nome, AK.

• This is a drawing tag that must be applied for between Nov 1-Dec. 15 of the previous year. Odds of drawing a tag is around 40%
(results posted by end of Feb).
• 7-day hunt with a travel day on each end.
• Hunters may add grizzly bear, caribou, wolf, and wolverine with an additional trophy fee.
